Open the Doors: Help Launch the YouthLearn Africa Training Center
75 young people reached so far. 350+ more within reach. Help us open the doors wider.
YouthLearn Africa is creating a practical learning home where young people can build skills in digital storytelling, media literacy, creative production and responsible technology use. The first learners have already started creating. Now we need support to keep the Center active and widen access.

$5,000 Bridge Support Goal
Keeping the Training Center active and preparingthe next phase of youth learning.

The doors are already opening
In May 2026, 15 young people joined the first Training Center bootcamp. They tested the hybrid learning model, used the online learning platform, received in-person facilitation and created practical digital storytelling outputs.
The bootcamp is early proof that the Training Center model can work.

A real place where young people can create with purpose
The YouthLearn Africa Training Center is becoming a practical home for digital storytelling, media literacy, mentorship and creative production.
Here, young people can learn through bootcamps, receive online learning support, develop media projects, take part in workshops and prepare for deeper opportunities such as the Media Fellowship.
The Center is not simply a room. It is the place where tools, guidance and young people come together to produce meaningful work.

Meet the young creators behind the work
Every learner story should be shared with dignity, permission and care. These stories show creativity, effort, confidence and possibility.

“Before joining YouthLearn Africa, I had an interest in photography and media creation, but I did not fully understand how to turn an idea into a story that could make an impact. Without this training, my skills might have remained only an interest while the world is becoming more digital. Through the bootcamp, I learned to think about the audience, shape stories from even small details, and create with purpose. Now I know these skills can help me in my future work and enable me to communicate ideas that matter.”
Mwesigwa Asher,
Digital Creators Bootcamp Learner
“Before YouthLearn Africa, I mostly used my device for entertainment and communicating with friends. I had never imagined using it to create a story that could speak for someone else. During the bootcamp, I chose to tell the story of a quiet student in class because I once had a friend in that situation. I learned how to record videos, ask for permission, and tell a story safely and respectfully. Now I want to use these skills to create my own videos and share stories that people may otherwise never notice.”
Sheema Ivan,
Digital Creators Bootcamp Learner
“Before YouthLearn Africa, I already loved creating stories, but I had not understood how powerful they could be in speaking about real issues like misinformation and the mistreatment of vulnerable people. During the bootcamp, I learned how to approach community members, interview them, and turn an important idea into a video story. Now I want to create content that is not only interesting, but also informative and inspirational to my community.”
Jemimah Nalweyiso,
Digital Creators Bootcamp Learner
“Before joining YouthLearn Africa, I mostly used my device for research and listening to music. I joined because I wanted to learn how to use technology, and during the bootcamp I discovered that I could use it to create videos and tell stories about issues that matter, like how children are treated in our communities. I learned to use tools like Google Docs and Drive, to ask for consent, and to protect people’s private information. Now I want to use these skills to teach others, support a future business, and encourage other girls to know that technology is for everyone.”
